Onkyo SC-1500 Vintage Floor Speakers (aka Monitor 2000x) - Very Rare

The SC-1500 was built to compete with the Yamaha NS-2000 and as you can see they are almost identical in looks and performance. I have read some call the SC-1500 more forgiving than the NS-2000.
 This speaker was also badged as the Onkyo Monitor 2000x for other foreign markets (Asia). The 2000x did have a some slight differences to the cabinet finish, but all components are identical. Each speaker weighs nearly 90 lb, so they will not be cheap to ship, but rest assured they will be packaged extremely well for safe travel. Needless to say, they will be insured and require signature upon arrival.

I am selling this wonderful pair from my personal collection. They are fantastic sounding speakers and extremely well built. It took me several years to find these and I am not desperate to sell, but willing to part at the price listed as I am sure there are others who have been hoping to land a pair of these.
Each driver; from the Magnesium Mid and tweeters, to the 13" Carbon Fiber Cone are original and free from any damage or abnormal performance issues to any portion, including cones, mesh covers, diaphragms, spiders, etc. (All working, as advertised)
Each speaker works and sounds perfectly. I did have these listed earlier in the year, but I had an accident and blew one of the tweeters. 6 months later, I was finally able to get the tweeter rebuilt and everything is running perfectly.
You will be hard pressed to find another pair of these. If you have been waiting for a pair, here is your chance.

Although the current foam surrounds are healthy and working perfectly, they were completed by their prior owner and probably 1/2 through their life-cycle. Each woofer will be properly refoamed to restore better cosmetics and renew health before being shipped.
In addition, the grills will be re-clothed before being shipped. (Grill badges are intact on both grills)
Cosmetics:
Each cabinet presents a very nice clean appearance however they are not perfect. There are some nics, and rounding to some of the corners, mainly along the back corners and edges.
Prior owner did screw casters to the bottom of each cabinet, which was a great idea, except they failed at attention to detail. This resulted in some very fine cracks along the front lower edge near the bottom corners, but did not split the joint, create a gap, or jeopardize the cabinet integrity. I have double checked internally, scroll down below demo video I added a picture. You will see that, aside from a minor visible hairline crack, it is very hard to notice unless looking for it.
As mentioned above, grills are original, have Onkyo badges, free from damage, but in the process of being reclothed and will arrived with new material properly installed.

Given the size and weight of these, sale is considered final as you will not want to repack these, trust me so please do not buy and say the wife made you return it. I will not honor any blown tweeters, mids, woofers etc. Each have been checked and used countless times so any failure would be a result improper use and that is on you, so please be careful.

Also note, I specialize in shipping Large and valuable speakers and spare no expense to make sure they are packaged properly for safe transit.
I have extended the handling time to account for my travel schedule and to ensure I have time to complete the refoam on the woofers. Most likely these will ship much sooner than advertised.
