Both speakers are fully functional, original etc.
As you can see they are not cosmetically perfect. I had purchased them to restore but letting go of a few projects to make some room.
They do work and sound as good as any other original Heresy but will need some tlc to return to their original looks.
The Heresy E model is fairly collectible as the came out of Frankfurt Germany instead of Hope Arkansas. They are essentially a black lacquer version of the Decorator series, same components, emblem, etc, just done in black.
Like the Decorator series, these were not made with grills.
As you can see the dust caps are indented and the surrounds are not perfect as they have lost shape in some areas, not punctured and the most importantly do work and the coils do not rub when properly played. (Improper being too much power and bass (standard Heresy rules apply)
Like any Heresy, these are very efficient so can easily be over driven with too big of an amplifier and bass set too high. These thrive with low wattage and tube systems and can be a very beautifuly dynamic speaker with a soft mid base. People who love Heresy know exactly what I am talking about and they are a speaker you fall in love with more and more with time. Those who do not like the Heresy system speak to their lack of lower range base. Although they do not produce the low range frequency that other Klipsch and other speakers of similar size produce, the things they do well are very hard to beat. Again with time your brain and ears do adjust and you will find a very sweet mid base as you grow away from preferring the sound from your other speakers. One caveat is the Heresy does not sound beautiful on all systems. Primarily newer amps/preamps (but not all) As mentioned they thrive with tube amps and preamps, or even some vintage solid state amps that were made with the warmer tube like sound. You will find this sound in many of the older Sansui Integrated amps and receivers, my favorite being the AU-555a, but any of the AU_ three digit series will be fantastic and plenty of power. I do like them on my AU-7700 as well, but their are many that will work, the older "Capacitor Coupled" solid states (transistor) being the best if going tube is not an option.
