I have received emails with folks asking if this is the original woofers in the boxes because almost all photos online show this set with foam surrounds and a different driver. Yes, the woofers are original. Despite the D-8 speaker already being pretty rare, there were some made with the cloth surrounds using the W15-4 driver, same as used in the 380SE. Although there is not a lot of information to be found, if you Google D-8-E "cloth surrounds" you will find some examples of these in forums of people trying to find information. I actually have a 3rd one of these, with the same driver. I purchased it on the East Coast and found these on the West Coast when trying to find a mate for my orphan unit. If you are interested in all three, let me know. I will not part it out though and will only sell to the person who buys this set, otherwise I will keep the 3rd until I find a matching mate for it.
 
Performance:
Each speaker has been carefully gone through, boxes sealed, grills re clothed. The sound is perfect.
The components are original. These are the harder to find cloth version using the W15-4 woofer. So no need to refoam these ones, the surrounds are perfect. I believe the correct designation for these are D -8-eu, assuming stands for Euro, perhaps made in Belgium, that part I do not know for sure. The "U" is used in the model # persented on the back of the cabinets, but not on the front. Feel free to correct me any info if you know the full history of the cloth version
All drivers, tweeters, mid work as advertised.
Cosmetics:
The speakers are in nice condition, free from damage. 
There is some nics and small wear along the edges and corners, but nothing terrible or that would be considered damage, but they are not mint. 
Still they are very nice ++ I did recloth the grills and put the original badges back in place. 
Grills are free from damage, pegs and frame are perfect. There are some scratches on the grill badges. 
Pictures of all angels are provided for you to review to decide if these are the right fit cosmetically for you so please use them and let me know if you have any questions before making the purchase. 
 
These are very large and do take me several hours to correctly pack for safe travel. I specialize in shipping large speakers, but please understand I do reserve 10 day handling to accommodate my schedule, and workload. I do strive to get them out within four days, but the time is reserved based on my schedule as I do travel for work and do not trust anyone else to package these but me. Feel free to message ahead if you are concerned about handling time.

If you need me to hold an item, please message ahead so I can adjust the handling. I cannot hold if the handling period is not properly set prior to purchase.
Items will be shipped to the address used at checkout. The buyer can log in to the carrier and reroute the package once it is checked in to the carrier.
Signatures may be required on high value items.
